Every other year Sacred Heart School takes their 4th & 5th graders to a Christian camp at Lake LBJ near Marble Falls. The theme for this camp is Universal Respect, and students are encouraged to challenge themselves to set goals and strive to make them! Students have the opportunity to learn to kayak, climb a rock wall, use a bow & arrow, fish in a lake, conduct water quality studies, recognize venomous reptiles, and touch a live snake. Students also try to imagine life in an original 1800's one-room cabin for a family of 13 and discover tools of the period and lifestyles back then. The fun of being together, praying together in the great outdoors, and enjoying time away from the rigors of the classrooms while experiencing the beauty of nature and a plethora of activities under the supervision of their teachers, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. White, Coach Moron, principal Mrs. Barnes, and pastor Fr. Ray Yrlas and the camp counselors is a tradition that the School hopes to continue for years to come!
